We Collaborate

Our network's proven ability to form effective collaborations is a means for corporate and philanthropic partners to achieve their charitable goals in an efficient and effective manner. Collaborations provide the means by which private colleges can pool their expertise and learn from one another to efficiently improve services provided to students.

Over the past several years our network has undertaken hundreds of collaborations. Collaborations have been formed by state partners to serve the needs of their members.Others have been undertaken within regions, and still others by groups of colleges either within a state or from across the nation. The national associations serving private colleges have also undertaken collaborative efforts.

These collaborations have addressed a variety of challenges. Some of the broader areas of concern include the following:

  • Helping faculty use new technologies to improve instruction
  • Improving teacher education programs
  • Helping at risk high school students prepare for college
  • Joint operation of administrative information technology systems
  • Improving science and mathematics education
  • Encouraging volunteer service programs for students.

Donors determine the criteria for the work to be done, and our staff undertakes the request for proposal process. We also lead the selection process, including the donor when this is their wish. We distribute the funds, manage the program of evaluation, and distribute the results. Finally, we also undertake a program of media relations to provide recognition for the donor.
