Why Partner with FIHE?

Walking on CampusA Network for You
You can benefit from our national network linking nearly 650 private colleges and universities serving 1.5 million students.  The FIHE network has state associations in most states where there are private colleges.  With the click of a few keys we can be “on the ground” in most states!

Your philanthropic goals inspire us
We’ll partner with you to help you efficiently and effectively achieve your philanthropic goals.  We’ll work with you to define a project and then oversee its completion and evaluation. You extend the reach of your philanthropic dollars while saving administrative time.

We are collaborators
Collaboration is not just a buzzword at FIHE.  We use our network to form collaborations to address challenges facing higher education.  We believe collaboration provides the means by which private colleges can pool their expertise and learn from one another to efficiently improve services to students.  Over the past decade, FIHE and its partners have formed over a hundred collaborations involving hundreds of private colleges – within states, in regions, among groups of colleges, among association partners – all across the nation.

You can become a venture philanthropist
You can use your philanthropy to engender new and innovative ventures.  You determine the criteria for the work to be done, and we do the rest.  Funded projects must match the grant funds with gifts from local donors, so at a minimum this doubles the impact of your gift.  Our National Venture Fund has funded countless exciting projects (see Solutions).

You can reach our graduates
In the competition for the best employees, you can use our network to get your message out to our graduates.

Your scholarship dollars can make a difference
We manage your scholarships the way you want, but we advocate scholarships for the most needy, at-risk, and yet promising young people.  What we do works:  the retention and graduation rates are over 80%!

You can partner with our network and get results
For 50 years, the Foundation for Independent Higher Education has worked to perpetuate the special values and characteristics of America’s private colleges and universities, strategically linking the corporate and philanthropic objectives of business and industry with the strengths and opportunities provided by a national network of state funds and their nearly 650 member colleges and universities.
